One of the unique things about SCOPE is that it is a student-run non-profit for students, and as such students play an integral role in leadership of the organization. S.C.O.P.E. DIRECTOR

Description: Fundraising, recruitment, and overhead management of SCOPE project teams. Institutionalize SCOPE operations and expand SCOPE, the largest premedical volunteering organization on the West Coast. Grow as a leader, premedical student and as a person.  Preference to freshman or sophomore who can really own SCOPE on as their own. No previous knowledge of program necessary: work with current directors for up to a year to prepare for this leadership position.

Term: 2-3 year term during school year and summer.

Supervisor: Maia Mosse, Stanford Student Director, and Dr. Michael McCullough, Physician Founder.

Compensation:  Up to $10-$15/hour.  Work-study available. Academic or internship available.  Leadership training.  First choice of shifts and clinical opportunities.  Letters of reference.  Potential for watching surgeries, attending pediatric clinics, and other hands-on clinical experiences. Dr. McCullough will help you with your medical school application process personally.

Requirements: A good heart and consistent work ethic, summer availability.

HOSPITAL COORDINATORS

Description: Hospital Coordinators organize health clearance and training for new members, schedule shifts, and coordinate hospital   appreciation duties. Also, the hospital coordinator is a liaison to contacts within the SCOPE program’s hospital. The hospital coordinator must have their own car to go to the hospital regularly.

Term: Four-quarter minimum commitment; during school year and summer.

Supervisors: Jennifer Miller, Medical Student Director, and Dr. Michael McCullough, Physician Founder.

Requirements: 5-15 hours/week of required project team work in addition to three 9-hour shifts per month; strong work ethic and organization

PROJECT TEAM LEADER

Description: Manage 4-8  students, arrange weekly team meetings, facilitate group discussions about ER shifts and medicine, supervise team members’  project work and shifts, plan events for team

Term: Four-quarter minimum commitment; during school year and summer.

BEAGOODDOCTOR – WEBMASTER

Description: Webmaster needed for BeAGoodDoctor programs.  Management of 8 websites.

Term: 1-year minimum.

Supervisors: Work under BeAGoodDoctor Co-Founders Jennifer Miller and Dr. Michael McCullough.

Compensation: Academic/internship credit available.  Mentorship and S.C.O.P.E. participation available.

Time Required: 5-15 hrs/wk. Flexible hours.

Requirements: Previous experience creating and maintaining websites.
