From elementary school onward, I recall learning of the human body through dissections of animal organs and basic chemical reactions. These exploratory topics and activities had a profound impact in laying the foundation for my interests in the sciences and medicine. Continuing on, through the tutelage of an insightful professor named Charles Ramskov, I discovered interest in neurology. My desire is to study and treat disease which profoundly impacts human potential. In my family, of Mexican heritage, I have assumed shared responsibilities with my elder siblings. The reciprocity of helping our parents and ourselves has nurtured in me the same type character with people as well. The combination of these complementary experiences, educational and personal, has lead me to S.C.O.P.E, where I seek to continue my development in the medical field and serve underrepresented communities at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
