I was born and raised in the country of Viet Nam. When I was a kid, I used to follow my grandparents around and read their research papers even though I had no knowledge what I was reading. But I was fascinating about their work, their dedication and kindness to their patients. I have come to realize that I want to be just like them to save lives and help people in need. They have always been such an inspiration for me to become the next generation to go to medical field.
I believe that joining SCOPE will give me opportunities to practice my clinical skills to the fullest. Not only does SCOPE allow me to volunteer for physicians and deliver care to patients, but I also can carry out interaction and communication to help patients who have difficulties in speaking another language. As a SCOPE Interpreter, helping patients to get over their language barrier is a challenging task, but that’s where the role of a healer starts, to comfort patients and fully understand their basic needs.
