Growing up in a hometown where people admired physician profession as a dedicated career to bring health and happiness to others. I decided at an early age to become doctors to take care of people around me. I became a young physician in Vietnam before immigrating to the US.
In the US, I do not have a license to work as a physician, but I can work as a Vietnamese interpreter and a volunteer. With a desire to work in healthcare system, I have studied some allied health courses such as emergency medical technician and medical assistant at San Jose City College. While volunteering at the emergency department of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, I have met some students who are in SCOPE programs. They made me realize that this program is what I am looking for to get back to medicine.
