As generic as it may sound, I have always enjoyed caring for and helping people. Along with a passion for biology, I am passionate about other people and eager to listen to their stories. I didn’t understand that these passions all pointed me towards a career in medicine until an international experience in Senegal where we visited local clinics to help with hospital clean ups and other projects. I was inspired by the various clinics’ holistic approaches to medicine within their communities. The experience piqued my interest in public health, and international medicine. However, I am only at the beginning of my journey to medical school and my time with SCOPE. I am excited to explore other areas of medicine through my undergraduate courses and experiences with SCOPE. I hope that SCOPE will give me an even better image of what being a physician is like.
