I truly believe in deriving my happiness from the happiness of others, and medicine provides the greatest combination of this fulfillment and my fascination with science. My passion for serving underprivileged communities led me to pursue medicine. Seeing children’s eyes light up when they received scholarships and bikes to ride to school, I knew that I wanted to have a career that gives me satisfaction through directly helping others. To see a patient smile again or to make sure a child has a healthy parent are events that I would be so fortunate to facilitate.
As a Vietnamese interpreter for SCOPE, I aim to provide comfort and to ease the distress of patients in unfamiliar situations. The extensive patient interaction that this position offers excites me, and I am eager to face the challenges it provides. Through SCOPE, I hope to have experiences that will help me uncover my specific interests within the field of medicine as well as develop new skills that will be valuable on my path to becoming a physician.
