What does it mean to be a part of SCOPE? Members take part in a multi-dimensional experience, which is comprised of three components:

Members explore and engage with the medical field through immersive shifts in the Emergency Department of the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, gaining hands-on exposure to hospital workflow and physician-patient interactions, while contributing as part of the medical team

Members are placed on a project team focused on improving areas such as community outreach, clinical excellence, or hospital operations. Project team participation allows for active contribution to shaping and sustaining SCOPE.

Members have the opportunity to develop long-lasting mentorship relationships, friendships, and to engage with the greater SCOPE community through group meetings and social events. SCOPE is a collaborative, diverse, and open environment that welcomes people across disciplines, ages, and interests to learn and grow from each other.
